Timothy Barrett
President and CEO with over 30-years experience in the insurance industry and 20 in senior leadership roles. Tim Barrett offers an invaluable blend of leadership, vision and a wide insurance technical knowledge. He has led teams in excess of 750 people in all states working for Fortune 500 companies (The Travelers, Nationwide, Liberty Mutual). He is known in the industry as a turnaround expert and for his ability to quickly access a claims operation, build successful strategy, and execute on a plan.
He has held roles in other functional areas including VP of Loss Control Development, Interim VP of Commercial Underwriting, Commercial Underwriting Manager, and AVP of Personal Line Sales. As a senior leader, Tim sat on many corporate committees, such as:

Tim has a broad knowledge of the insurance model and has been successful in underwriting and building the Risk Management operations for Canal Insurance.

He also had a lead role in the merger and acquisition of General Accident and Commercial Union which was a very successful transaction.

He also has a technology background and was involved in developing the first technology platform for NC Farm Bureau and the successful role out of Guidewire Claim Center at Canal Insurance as their first customer.
